Hi all

Another quick update, as there are a few changes in our programme over the next two weeks, with the daylight saving programme drawing to a close.

We haven't forgotten those who want another Time Trial, after many of you missed the very wet Time Trial Champs. We are trying to find a free weekend, hopefully that will be before the National Champs at the start of May. We will keep you posted

End of the Tuesday / Thursday Rides - 29th March & 31st March
After a fantastic summer & autumn, these rides finish next week. A huge thanks to the Tuesday night crowd, for your good behaviour out on the roads this summer. It took a few months for the groups to sort themselves out, but I think we have the split about right now, with everyone spread pretty evenly across the groups.

Criterium - Whakakake St, The Lakes, Tauriko - CONTINUES YEAR ROUND, but new day!
This will be on Wednesday night this coming week (30th March), but in April, will shift to TUESDAY nights. Same time, be out there by 6.00pm for a 6.30 start

If you are riding out to the race, be VERY careful and make sure you have lights / fluoro jacket on. The roundabout at the top of Route K is not cyclist friendly, its in a 100km/h area, and it will be dark next month after the clocks go back.

FitLab - AvantiPlus Mt Maunganui, 2 Owens Place, Mt Maunganui
To all Tauranga Road club members:

Just wanted to let you all know that we’ve been contacted by Andrew Jamieson from a new company called “Fitlab”

Fitlab assess your fitness using a range of sport specific tests (such as: Anaerobic Threshold, Peak Power, Predicted VO2max and Body Composition). This information guides Fitlab’s training advice by providing customized training zones and feedback on specific areas of fitness. Future tests gauge improvements by measuring changes in the different variables to help track your progress. To put it simply, Fitlab shows where you are at, gives accurate training zones and tracks improvements.

They’re based out of Auckland and will be travelling through the regions on a regular basis offering mobile testing. They bring all of the necessary equipment with them and after speaking with Andrew, it became clear that he is an expert at using it and getting the most from the data.

Andrew is planning on being back in our area on the week of April the 11th – 16th and will be doing the testing in our store (this can also be booked after hours if need be).

You can contact Fitlab direct on: info@fitlab.co.nz to make a booking or read more about their team and testing at: www.fitlab.co.nz

We’ve all wondered just how much potential that we have in our legs and this is the perfect way to measure and track it and a very reasonable price. Perfect timing to get some knowledge on how your body works to assist in your winter base training and racing.

Any further questions, feel free to contact us at the shop. (or all 574-6032)

Thanks,
Tim Mills

Reminder from Tauranga City Council
To all 'Road' Cyclist,
Western Bay District Council & Tauranga City Council (administered by Western Bay District Council) will be reconstructing Welcome Bay Road from Waitao Road to the top of Ngapeke "hill" on WB. Construction planned to start April 2011 and finish June 2011.
Over this middle period we would suggest Road bikes don't use Welcome Bay Road

Club note - We will find an alternative route for the Sunday rides during this period.
